Winter Blues

I can NOT wait for the weather to improve here in NKY.  I need the snow to disappear and the sun to come out so I can get back to running.  I was wanting to run the American Heart Association Mini-marathon this month but I haven't stepped out in my running shoes in over a month.  The next big race is the Flying Pig in May, which is familiar enough and I'd love to be in shape enough to run the full marathon next year (it's a dream of mine to run down Colombia Parkway along the river).

So snow snow go away.

What I have been doing is...

...watching a lot of television.
Jamie and I routinely watch The Daily Show, Family Guy, and Bob's Burgers (and we'll be all over Game of Thrones when it comes back!) and we've managed to start and catch up to the current third season of Vikings and we're starting Longmire.
I'm also four seasons into The West Wing, and I tried to get into The 100, in addition to keeping relatively up to date on Doctor Who, Modern Family, Law & Order: SVU, The Mindy Project, and my guilty pleasure -- Scandal (I'm completely Team Jake, Fitz is just so awful I don't even know where to begin.)

And I should've spent the time reading instead.  As it was I finished Insurgent, Fly a Little Higher and Amy Poehler's Yes Please.  I love female comedian's memoirs.  If anyone knows of any good ones other than Tina Fey's Bossy Pants and Mindy Kaling's Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? let me know in the comments below!

...trying hot yoga.
We were both able to get a 30 day pass for $30 to a studio near us.  I went 3-4 times a week and felt super fit after a couple weeks, but then Snowmageddon hit in full force, I fell off the exercise wagon and my pass expired.  Now it will cost $10 a class and I'm cheap.  This is why we need sunshine!  So I can just exercise outside!

...obsessing over wedding planning.
I made my STDs and I'm working on the invitations now.  I bought my dress, my shoes (from ENGLAND!), waaaay too much mismatched China, and new makeup.  We picked out the lovely Angie from Milestone Images to be our photographer.  And my parents have been working on the barn.
*sigh*  The barn.
Turns out the stairs to get into the barn are going to cost 80% of my original budget for this wedding (I say "my" budget because Jamie would buy the moon if I wanted it at the wedding).  Needless to say, I am ready to ditch the whole barn idea.  I could get a beautiful tent completely decked out with walls, a liner, chandeliers, tables, chairs, the dishes I still need, and a dance floor for a quarter of the price of the stairs alone.
*sigh*

...diving headfirst into social media.
Check out my links on the right, I'm actually updating them now! lol.
Instagram will get a couple pictures a week, including my favorite shots from my global adventures every Throwback Thursday.
I'm working on Twitter becoming a constant feed of snark, social justice, and promotions.
Youtube is where I'll post tutorials, vlogs, and some reviews.
On my Pinterest I have a board for pretty much anything you could be interested in.
And of course Facebook is Facebook.

Those should help you with your withdrawal ;)
